All About Me and My Jewellery

My name is Jo Francis,

I started making jewellery about 20 years ago, when I lived in Todmorden, myself and my dad did lots of crafts fairs and had a blast.

I moved to Burnley in 1992 and didn't have much time for beading, then my daughter was born and I gave it up completely, (well it is hard to do craft fairs with a little un in tow), so all my beads got stashed away in the loft.

About 3 years ago, I booked myself into the Gawthorpe Festival craft fair, and rummaged in the loft looking for all my stuff, it was at this point that I realised there wasn't as much as I thought, and a mad couple of weeks ensued making sure that I had a presentable amount of stock. Of course this lead to both of my children having a go at jewellery making, and so began an addiction for them, you can just imagine what it is like here, with 3 of us at it!

I have since expanded my techniques, to include more bead weaving, I discovered the delights of wire work and also beaded flowers.

As to the materials used for the jewellery, wow where do I start! I have used glass, hand made lampwork beads, acrylic, Swarovski crystal, fire polished crystal, gemstones and a variety of wires (again the wires are plated and should be ok for sensitive skin).

The beaded flowers are made of quality glass seed beads and wire, there will be more added to the flower shop as they are made, but if you have something in mind, then don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your requirements.
