All about me and my jewellery

Hello, my name is Jo Francis, I am a mother of two, and I live in Burnley in the north of England.

I first started making jewellery about 20 years ago, selling it at craft fairs that I attended with my dad.

I gave up when my daughter was born, as it was difficult to do craft fairs with a baby in tow, and I just never seemed to get round to it again, and then in 2006 I booked myself into a craft fair, thinking that I had a stash of jewellery hidden away in the loft, only to find that there wasn't as much as I thought, and so with 3 weeks to go till the event, I had to rapidly make some more.

I enjoyed this, and it re-awakened the old feelings, and so I decided to really make a go of it again, I am mainly self taught, and as a result of reading the Internet, books and speaking to other jewellers, have manage to increase my range of items, now including beaded flowers, wire work, weaving and also using Fimo polymer clay.

I have also broadened my range of materials used, now using fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals to name a few, most of the jewellery is made with plated metals, I do make sure that I only use low nickel or nickel free metals, and have my own guinea pig to test them on, she assures me that nothing so far has caused her any problems, so that's good enough for me!

I do make most of my items as one of a kinds, though there are times that I will make a range of same but differents, more often than not just being in different colours.  I can make most of the one of kinds again, but there is always likely to be slight, so you can be assured that anything you buy, you are not likely to see on other people.

If you see something that you like, and want multiples of them, or even the item but in another colour, then please get in touch and we can take it from there.

Oh, and the vast majority of the ear wires can be changed to clip ons (50p per pair) so please let me know if you need this done.
