About

My name is Jo and I am a married mother of two living in Burnley in the heart of the Red Rose County (Lancashire!)

I first started making jewellery about 30 years ago, simple things that myself and my dad trawled around local craft fairs.

I gave up doing events when my daughter was born, as it was difficult to attend with a baby in tow and I just never seemed to get round to getting back into it.  Then in 2006 I booked myself into a craft fair, thinking that I had a stash of jewellery in the loft that I could sell. Unfortunately there wasn’t quite as much as I thought and with only 3 weeks to go till the event I had to rapidly make some more.

I enjoyed this and it re-awakened the old feelings, so I decided to really make a go of it again. I am mainly self taught, and as a result of reading the internet and books and speaking to other beadworkers I have managed to increase my range of items, which now include beaded flowers, wire work, weaving and also using polymer clay.

I have also broadened my range of materials used, now using fresh water pearls and Swarovski Crystal Elements to name a few.  Most of the jewellery is made with plated metal, although I make sure that I use fully compliant low/no nickel metals, and these are tested on a very sensitive in house guinea pig….. she assures me that she has no problems with the materials used, so that’s good enough for me!

I do make most of my items as one of a kinds, although there are times that I make a range of same but different, usually different colours or different beads.  I can make most of the ‘one of a kinds’ again, but there will always be slight variancies, so be assured that you will always have something that no one else has!

If you see something that you like, and want multiples of them, or even in a different colour, then please get in touch and we can take it from there, although I have to insist on a deposit of 50% on any commissioned item up front.

Pretty much most of the earrings can be changed from pierced to clip on fittings, (this is charge at 50p per pair), please let me know if you need this doing.
